The Splitsville Way
Each practice plan follows the sequence of warm-up, soccer technical (skill) drill, fitness drill, tactical drill and scrimmage. The practices have a theme that follows throughout the session. The sequencing of drills is one of the key proprietary components of our program. It has been researched, tested and proven to be extremely effective in optimum development of skill, fitness, tactical understanding and mental training aka. DEFTNESS A cornerstone of our program is the principle of including ball work in everything we do. aka DEFTNESS
Warm-Up
Our warm-ups are a set of four LOW intensity, yet technically andtactically challenging mini-drills. After each drill is a stretch to ensure proper muscular progression. aka DEFTNESS
Technical Skill
Our technical skills incorporate all essential elements such as ball control, receiving, passing, shooting into complex and demanding small group drills. You can easily monitor success and increase your demands on the players by requiring a faster pace and increased precision of execution. aka DEFTNESS
Fitness Drill
Aerobic, anaerobic, speed, strength are developed while executing ball skills, thus more accurately reflecting game situations than traditional fitness training without ball. For the most part, players don’t evenrealize that they are in a fitness drill. aka DEFTNESS
Tactical Drill
Our tactical drills are mainly small group exercises. They are based on all tactical aspects of the modern game and support all systems of play and game tactics. Specific areas and styles of defence, midfield and attacking models are trained in small functional units. aka DEFTNESS
Scrimmage (aka Splitsville and deft)
The scrimmages at the end of the session bring together all the elements of the prior drills. They also are designed to prepare your team for the next game. You can easily incorporate and test various line-ups and game strategies into the scrimmages, right up to a full rehearsal for your next opponent. aka DEFTNESS.
